Ella and Elijah
I am a full time wife, mom, friend, daughter, and teacher. I have fun and creative ideas to help others enjoy the time they spend with the people they love. It all starts by loving God and doing all things as if you are doing them for Him. Why not make God smile.

Mama - Is that you?
I picked up Ella early this morning from Grandma's house. I was so overwhelmed to see her. She looked so small and sweet. She has new teeth, too. Amazing what a week can bring.
I know she had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa but I am so glad to have her home. She is such a happy baby. I am such a blessed woman.

Noah's Arc?
Have you looked at a children's book picture of Noah's arc and thought how ridiculous. Well, D and I have some friends who started a conversation with us about Noah's arc. Have you ever read the real story? It is a story told in the Bible of a man who God found favor with. He was told to build a huge boat. He was told specifics of how to build it. He was told it would have one door and three levels and it would house all the animals. But have you really ever read the Bible version? Did you know it was 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high? I know the story and have been told the Sunday school version, but last year I read the real version and found it different from what I thought. We are told about the 40 days and 40 nights, but Noah was on the arc much longer than this. He was 600 years old when he entered the boat and about 15 months later he stepped out only after God told him to leave. So, after a little over a month of rain- it stopped and Noah, his wife and his three sons, and their wives were on the arc for another 13 months. We are told two of every animal, but there were several more for sacrifices and food. God even gave a specific to take seven male and female of EVERY kind of bird. That is a bunch of newspaper if you know what I mean. What about all the food Noah would need for the animals, himself, and his seven family members?
Did you know God closed the door seven days prior to the flood? Did you know it took Noah 120 years to build this boat? He trusted God so much he suffered more than a lifetime of ours in jokes and persecution from his community. Did you know there was no rain on earth before the flood? Did you know there were seven male and female of clean animals and 2 of every unclean animals?
I still think most believers have not read the Bible from cover to cover. I have not. I am on a mission. I am going to finish reading the Bible by Ella's birthday next year. I will read it like this every year. I want to know the true stories. They are much more interesting than the version we were told in Sunday school. - Don't you think?
